Talk about seeing the light, I'm about 100 pages into Getting Things Done and it's already changed the way I'm organising myself and my tasks. I've always kept a list of projects and kind of ad hoc to-do lists but never really organised everything together in one central place to keep up to date and to revise all the time. Now having a list of projects, with a list of actions for each project, and most importantly the next action to complete is a fantastic feeling. I feel more relaxed and don't worry about all the things I have to do now as I know they are noted down in OneNote. I've even been able to stay off my PC for a couple of evenings last week! I've often thought that all I do in the evenings is keep checking my emails and waiting for something important to do, but now if I do work in the evening I know one of the tasks I've got to do, and if I want to take the evening off I can relax as I know all the tasks are still in order and safe to pick up tomorrow.
There are a couple of great blog posts about using OneNote with the GTD methodology here by Larry O'Brien,

I've adapted these flags and it's all working well. I was quite suprised when I came up a list of all my projects and came up with a total of 19! Is that too many? That doesn't even include personal projects (such as clearing the garden!), that's just work and SharePoint related ones.
After getting all my projects and actions into OneNote the next thing I needed to do was figure out a way of sharing it across my desktop PC and laptop. Most people seem to do this via setting up a shared folder on one of their PC's and using it across that. My work laptop is on a different domain though and I want to sync OneNote while I'm at work. I leave my desktop PC on all the time so thought that Groove would be the answer, and damm right it is! Downloaded Groove 2007, set up my account to be used on more than one PC, created a File Sharing workspace and added my OneNote workbook to there. Now I can open OneNote at work or at home and make changes that will be synced across both PC's. F**king brilliant!!!! I'll probably start using the Groove Folder Share for blog posts that I start writing on my laptop and want to finish when I get home on my desktop.
Has anyone else been using OneNote and Getting Things Done? Do you have any tips I could use?
